Artek Lucius Candleholder

Finnish-Korean design duo COMPANY designed the Secrets of Finland product family for the FIN/JPN friendship collection at Artek. The product family consists of six handmade ceramic objects, each reflecting a Finnish ritual related to the season. This Pauper Coin Collector ceramic money box is inspired by an old Finnish tradition of placing a wooden statue of a beggar outside a church to collect money for the poor. For COMPANY, the Pauper is reminiscent of Kaamos (or Arctic Night), the darkest, coldest time of the year when the vulnerable are most in need.
